Attorney General says Berlin Police officer justified in use of deadly force

MANCHESTER, N.H.- The Attorney General’s Office says a Berlin police officer who shot a man in Milan this past May was legally justified in his use of deadly force.

According to investigators Cpl. Jason Silva shot Zachary Gagne in the hand, upper arm and abdomen during an incident that began when Gange’s wife called 911 for help.

During the incident Police say Gange was armed with a knife and approached officers when they arrived on scene.

Following the incident authorities say Gagane survived his injuries and is expected to face charges.
