Well, here’s something we didn’t exactly have on our 2026 country music bingo card.
Boyz II Men are going country.
Yes. THAT Boyz II Men.
The guys who gave us “End of the Road,” “I’ll Make Love to You,” “On Bended Knee” and “Water Runs Dry.”
One of the most successful R&B groups of all time is officially heading to Nashville.
And this isn’t just a one-song collaboration or a special appearance at a country music awards show.
They’re making an entire country album.
On Monday, October 26, Boyz II Men announced they’ve signed with Warner Records Nashville, with plans to release their first country project sometime in 2027.

Now, before you start imagining the guys wearing cowboy hats and singing about pickup trucks, there’s something you should know.
This isn’t nearly as random as it sounds.
They’ve Actually Been Country Fans for Years
Boyz II Men members Nathan Morris, Wanyá Morris and Shawn Stockman have spent decades making some of the most recognizable vocal harmonies in popular music.
But country music has always been part of their musical world.
In an interview with The Tennessean, Stockman explained that the group grew up appreciating artists like Travis Tritt, Vince Gill and The Chicks.
What attracted them?
The storytelling.
The songwriting.
And the way country music can take a simple, everyday situation and turn it into something that makes you feel everything.
Sound familiar?
Because when you think about it, some of Boyz II Men’s biggest hits really aren’t that different from great country ballads.
They’re songs about love.
Heartbreak.
Regret.
Missing somebody.
And trying to figure out how to move on when a relationship ends.
Take away some of the R&B production, add an acoustic guitar or a steel guitar, and suddenly you might have something that sounds right at home on country radio.

And They’ve Already Been Hanging Out With Country Stars
Here’s where it gets even more interesting.
Boyz II Men have already spent quite a bit of time working with country artists.
Back in 2019, they teamed up with Brett Young for an episode of CMT Crossroads, combining his modern country sound with their signature harmonies.
Earlier this year, they joined Cody Johnson onstage at the Stagecoach festival.
And they’ve also performed with country artists including Chris Stapleton.
But their most recent Nashville collaboration might give us the best idea of what could be coming.
Boyz II Men recorded a song called “I Love The One” with Lady A.
That’s right.
Boyz II Men and Lady A.
Six voices.
Two groups famous for their harmonies.
And a song that brings those musical styles together.
The collaboration will appear on a separate album inspired by the television series The Chosen, scheduled for release Friday, October 30. It’s not an announced track from the upcoming Warner country album.

They’re Not Abandoning R&B
One of the most interesting things about this announcement is how the group describes its decision.
Wanyá Morris told The Tennessean:
“We don’t want to become country. We want to be a part of it.”
And that’s an important distinction.
They’re not trying to erase the music that made them famous.
They’re simply exploring another style of music they’ve loved for years.
Nathan Morris explained that they’ve experimented with different genres throughout their careers, but country is one area they haven’t fully explored.
And after more than three decades of making music, they’re excited about trying something new.
The upcoming project will bring them together with Nashville songwriters, although the album’s title, track list and exact release date haven’t been announced yet.

Could This Actually Work?
Here’s what makes this announcement so fascinating.
Country music and R&B might sound very different on the radio.
But underneath the production, they have a lot in common.
Both depend on strong melodies.
Both celebrate great singers.
And both have produced some of the greatest heartbreak songs ever recorded.
Boyz II Men have sold more than 60 million albums worldwide and won four Grammy Awards.
They know how to deliver a song that connects emotionally with an audience.

And country music has always had room for artists who bring something a little different to the table.
Just look at what Darius Rucker accomplished when he moved from Hootie & the Blowfish into a successful solo country career.
Sometimes a familiar voice in an unexpected setting turns out to be exactly what listeners didn’t know they wanted.
Will Boyz II Men have a country radio hit?
Will they record duets with some of Nashville’s biggest stars?
Could we eventually hear “End of the Road” with a fiddle and steel guitar?
We don’t know yet.
But one thing is certain.
Nashville is about to get some pretty incredible harmonies.
And I’m genuinely curious to hear what they come up with.
Because if there’s one thing Boyz II Men have always known how to do, it’s sing a great song.
And that’s something country music has always appreciated.
