MANCHESTER, N.H.- The FAA has issued its final report into a plane crash in Newport this past July in which officials say the pilot overran the runway and was left with serious injuries.
According to the report the pilot was turning from the base leg of the traffic pattern when he heard another pilot say they were on final approach to an intersecting runway.
This resulted in the main pilot immediately reducing his decent before resuming the landing attempt, which caused the final approach to be steeper than normal, and the pilot touched down with insufficient runway remaining cause the plane to crash into the trees.
