MANCHESTER, N.H.– Comedian Jay Leno has asked a New Hampshire court to recognize his wife’s conservatorship, so he can sell a piece of property that the couple owns.
The request comes as Massachusetts native is facing a challenge as the conservatorship he has over his wife Mavis’ affairs is recognized in California but according to New Hampshire law, any out-of-state arrangements to sell local real estate or handle assets requires a formal court petition and review in order to match local standards.
The property in question is co-owned by the couple and is estimated worth around $400,000 and was placed on the market this past June.
The news comes as Leno was named conservator over his wife Mavis’ affairs in April of 2024 after she was diagnosed with advance dementia.
