Did you know that Lainey Wilson will be the first woman to host the CMAs solo since Reba McEntire back in 1991?  And if it was up to her, she’d turn the CMA Awards into a good-natured roast.

Here’s what she said, “I tried to get them to let me do it last year and they were like, ‘whoa, whoa, whoa, that’s too far’ . . . But I go way back with these people.  Let me make fun of Luke Combs, please.”

Lainey co-hosted last year’s show with Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning . . . and wants to keep that same playful tone this time around.  She said, “If I can poke fun at people . . . hey, we good.”

The 59th Annual CMA Awards will air live from Nashville on Wednesday, November 19th on ABC. See the full interview below.
