NEWTON, N.H.- Authorities say a Massachusetts man was arrested following a report of a pedestrian being struck by a car which turned into a felony assault investigation.
According to investigators around 7:30 p.m. officers responded to a report of a person being struck near Crane Crossing Road Friday evening. Once on scene police found a lying in the street severely injured. Officers then quickly determined the incident wasn’t a regular traffic accident but was an assault, with the motor vehicle being used as a weapon.
Authorities identified the suspect as Soren Glasser,23, of Merrimac, Massachusetts. Following his arrest Glasser was charged with a single count of second-degree assault and five counts of resisting arrest.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in serious condition due to her injuries.
