New Hampshire accepts payment of more than $7 million from 3M for PFAS contamination

MANCHESTER, N.H.- New Hampshire has received a payment of $7.28 million payment in a nationwide settlement with the company 3M over the contamination of public drinking water systems by toxic PFAS chemicals.

According to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office this latest payment brings the state’s total amount thus far to more than $43 million.

Officials note the money from the payments will continue through at least 2023, with the funds going to the state’s Drinking Water and Groundwater Trust Fund.
