HAMPTON, N.H.- Authorities say more than 50 people were arrested Tuesday along Ocean Boulevard after a number of fights broke out.
According to State Police the large gathering which was organized online gathered at the same time people were seeking shelter from the rain in the area of the Seashell Stage which led to a number of fights occurring.
Due to what Hampton Police Chief Alex Reno classified as an “unlawful assembly” New Hampshire State Police ended up calling in support from the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit, and the Special Events Response Team for additional support.
By the end of the ordeal police say officers responded to a total of 127 calls and made 51 arrests, with the charges ranging from rioting, assault to driving under the influence along with the unlawful possession of alcohol, minors transporting alcohol and disorderly conduct.
Other departments that offered support include the Rockingham County Sheriff’s office, along with police from Epping, Kensington and Seabrook.
