MANCHESTER, N.H.- Two people from Pittsfield appeared before a judge Monday and were ordered held without bail pending a probable cause hearing after being charged for an alleged robbery in Hollis this summer in which a dog was shot and killed.
According to court documents, Joshua Peno, 35, and Mariah Troutghton, 34, have been charged with arriving at a home on Laurel Hill Road back on August 11th around 2:45 a.m. with Peno pulling out a gun and aiming at the victim and then demanding his wallet “and anything else” he had on him.
It was during this interaction police say Peno shot and killed the dog
Police ended up obtaining warrants for the cellphone records of both Peno and Troughton, which resulted in the pair being arrested.
Following their arrests Peno is now facing a number of charges, including robbery, felonious use of a firearm, being a felon in possession of a weapon and cruelty to animals, while Troughton was charged with being an accomplice to both the robbery and the criminal liability of the conduct of another.
Out of their hearing Monday the pair are due back in court for a probable cause hearing on October 14, in Nashua’s 9th Cricut Court.
