The latest effort to legalize marijuana for recreational use in the Granite State died Thursday as the Senate rejected strongly supported bi-partisan legislation. The 14-10 vote killed the bill that passed with a bipartisan, 70% supermajority in the House. Supporters claim the state is missing out on millions in revenue that New Hampshire residents spend in nearby states, and that it’s time to admit the war on marijuana was a failure. Gov. Chris Sununu said earlier this year that he didn’t expect new legislation to reach his desk with teen drug use and overdoses on the rise.
