PORTSMOUTH, NH- Two of the most dangerous animals in the world can be found in New Hampshire.

Although New Hampshire might not seem like the locale for dangerous animals the BBC’s Science Focus Magazine noted that mosquitos and snakes are two of the most dangerous animals in the world – and both can be found in New Hampshire.

There are more than 40 species of mosquitos in New Hampshire, according to the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, and only a small number of this carry and spread Eastern equine encephalitis and West Nile Virus.

New Hampshire has one venomous snake: the timber rattlesnake.
